Small yet effective! This ATmega328 Arduino Nano 3.x stands out owing to its Duemilanove functionality with a slight variation. Apparently, Nano appears similar to the UNO but there are various technical differences you’ll recognize when working with this board. It is compatible with Mini-B USB rather than Standard USB cable.

Arduino Nano Description

Nano requires a USB (Mini-B) connection supporting from 6V to 20V power supply in the case of Pin-30 and 5V power supply in the case of Pin-27. The system automatically selects the highest source of voltage.

The Input/Output pins support all three functions i.e. digitalRead, digitalWrite and pinMode. The Nano is capable of efficiently communication with microcontrollers, other Arduino boards, and computers.

For programming, you can either select Duemilanove or Nano w/ ATmega328P (you may select either option from the Board menu in the Tools. Nano’s microcontroller features a bootloader and is pre-burned to help upload codes without requiring a hardware programmer from an external source.

Nano is equipped with STK500 protocol for communication. If you, however, want to bypass the bootloader, you can do it with ICSP. This In-Circuit Serial Programming also enables you to program to microcontroller as per your requirements.

Nano features Auto-Reset; controlled by the software so there no more remains a requirements for the conventional reset button. It makes it simple for you to upload the codes via upload-button.
